Over Pure Prime
In een mechanische, zelfs robotische choreografie onderzoeken drie dansers de teloorgang van menselijke intimiteit in een tijd van digitale communicatie.
In the 21st century, we have new advanced ways of communication. We are following the media while losing the human connection. Touch, intimacy, and vulnerability are not to take for granted. The performers are co-existing next to each other, aware of the others and willing to connect. However, there are still borders, physically and socially, to overcome. During the piece they are looking for opportunities to connect through rhythm, proximities and sound. The need to connect is human, but the result it an artificial connection as in the media society nowadays.
In a mechanical, robotic choreography, Davide Andrea Calabrese, Loris Daniel Casalino and Gilda Federica Cesario investigate the decline of human intimacy in a time of digital communication.
Over de makers
PRIME is a collective, based in The Netherlands, creating choreography, music, film and visuals. The duo consists out of Daniel Barkan and Enrico Meijer, both graduates from ArtEZ Bachelor of Dance. During their studies they found mutual artistic interests which led to their first work ‘Point Of Change’ (2017). Sound and movement are going hand in hand in our work, as they are lovers who cannot exists without each other. When starting a new film or live performance, sound is one of the first pieces of our puzzle. It stimulates the images in our minds into movement and vice versa. Once we collaborate there are no clear roles between choreography, sound and visuals. They are in a constant conversation with each other leading to an harmonic process of creative minds.
